Schogetten – Packaging and Recycling

Schogetten packaging has to meet an extensive range of stringent requirements—and that’s no easy task. It must protect Schogetten from light and air so that the chocolate long maintains its great taste. It also has to keep Schogetten safe during transport to the supermarket and to your home. On top of that, we strive to minimize the packaging to reduce waste—and the packaging that remains must be recyclable. Our top priority, however, is ensuring our customers’ uncompromised enjoyment of Schogetten, while preventing the food waste that can occur when packaging doesn’t provide adequate protection. That is, the most important job of the packaging is to guarantee that you can savor Schogetten to the full for the duration of its shelf life. In addition to protecting the product, the packaging must meet specific criteria in terms of materials and recyclability. Successful recycling depends on your help—please note the instructions for proper disposal on the packaging.

Ever since the first 100 gram package of Schogetten was produced in 1962, our packaging has been made of cardboard and aluminum foil. Today, both of these materials are easy to recycle, allowing us to label the packaging of classic Schogetten as 95% recyclable—as independently verified by cyclos-HTP, the institute for recyclability.
